As our district prepares for at-school learning, by gradually phasing in groups of students per state guidelines, we have a significant need to hire more school bus drivers, emergency substitute teachers, and substitute paraeducators. The pandemic, coupled with the related new public health requirements for schools, is presenting new challenges for adequately staffing our schools. For example, social distancing in classrooms means few students are allowed per room, and if a teacher needs to stay home sick, we can no longer combine classrooms for supervision.

Many parents have reached out to inquire what they can do to help get students back in school.  Now we have these very urgent and important needs that we implore all to consider. Bus drivers, emergency substitute teachers and substitute paraeducators will be critical for our district’s ability to support more students in person, and to keep schools open once students are approved to return.
