Urgent: SVSD is seeking Bus Drivers & Emergency Substitute Teachers
As our district prepares for at-school learning, by gradually phasing in groups of students per state guidelines, we have a significant need to hire more school bus drivers, emergency substitute teachers, and substitute paraeducators. The pandemic, coupled with the related new public health requirements for schools, is presenting new challenges for adequately staffing our schools. For example, social distancing in classrooms means few students are allowed per room, and if a teacher needs to stay home sick, we can no longer combine classrooms for supervision. Therefore, they are interested in gaining input from constituents and staff before selecting that individual. School closures and social distancing have taken their toll on our kids (and ourselves), and anxiety is a bigger problem than ever. The Snoqualmie Valley PTSA Council invites SVSD families to a free screening of the documentary  Angst.  The film is available for on-demand viewing Oct. 20-26, and there will be a free panel discussion on anxiety with local mental health professionals from Sound and Friends of Youth on Oct. 27 at 7 pm.
